The client-side change includes enabling the Develop tab at the Safari menu, using which the Safari cache and all Safari Windows are closed prior to starting Safari to browse the Storefront’s receiver. Avoid Citrix receiver not launching applications issues for good with Parallels RAS.
We have come across an issue recently with the new version of the Citrix online plugin (now called Citrix Reciever). Installation of the Citrix Reciever software from the OSX App store is not sufficient to allow the downloaded ICA file to auto open. The result is, you install Citrix Reciever and login to the Citrix site only for the ICA file to download, but not open. This makes it look like Citrix isn’t working properly.
The fix is simple:
- Oct 20, 2019 Update as of November 30, 2019 I updated my ipad to IOS 13 and citrix receiver stopped working. So I delete Citrix receiver, restart Ipad, download Citrix receiver and Citrix workspace app - it still did not work and work stuff does not open on Ipad.
- Citrix Workspace App Launcher is not able to launch applications automatically with Safari browser version 12. Citrix Workspace App launcher is not able to trigger the application launch on the Safari 12 browser. This issue is happening after the upgrade of Safari 12.
- Citrix Workspace App and Citrix Receiver cannot launch applications automatically with Safari version 12.
- If users choose to upgrade from Citrix Receiver to Citrix Workspace app, the only change will be the icon to open Citrix Workspace app. Government users Citrix Cloud Government users will continue to see their “purple” user interface when using the Workspace app or when accessing from a web browser.
Citrix Receiver For Safari
- First, you have to modify what Safari considers as a “safe” file. Ensure that in Safari’s Preference panel that ‘Open “Safe” files’ is checked.
- Next, download this zip file: https://www.jaytag.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Auto_Open_ICA.zip
- Extract the plist (preferences file) from the downloaded zip file
- Drag and drop the file to
/Library/Preferences. (On OSX Lion, type library in the ‘Find’ box and double-click into the preferences folder) - Restart Safari
